Investigation launched following death of woman

We are investigating after a woman was found dead in Stoke-on-Trent.

Officers were called to Corporation Street at 2.55am yesterday morning (Sunday 21 January) by our colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service.

A 27-year-old woman was found unresponsive inside the address. Sadly, despite the best efforts of paramedics, she was later pronounced dead.

Our specially-trained officers are supporting her family at this tragic time.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A cordon was set up at the address whilst officers carried out local enquiries in the area.
