Five people have been arrested following a burglary at a pharmacy in Stoke-on-Trent on Christmas Day.
We received reports of a break-in at an address on Queen Street, Burslem, just before 11am on Monday 25 December. Intruders forced entry into the building and took a large amount of prescription medication.
Following an investigation by local officers, a man in his 30s, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, along with one woman in her 30s, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, and two men, in their 30s, and of no fixed address, have since been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A 30-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, was also arrested on suspicion of burglary and possession of a class B drug.
A quantity of drugs have since been recovered by our officers.
Stoke North Chief Inspector, Scott McGrath, said: "This is another great result for local officers who are committed to acting on the concerns of local people and businesses. I would like to reassure our retailers that we will continue to do everything that we can to safeguard their businesses and their livelihoods from thieves.”
