Detectives are appealing for information following a car-jacking in Cheadle.
We were called to The Huntsman pub, on The Green, shortly before 1.40am today (Tuesday 9 January) following a report that a grey Audi S3 had been stolen by two masked men.
The victim, a man in his 20s, from Stafford, was reversing out of the pub car park when a man wearing a balaclava opened the driver’s door. A second man, also wearing a balaclava, then pointed a gun at the occupants of the vehicle and shouted at them to get out.
The front-seat passenger, a woman in her 20s, from the Stafford area, left the vehicle. The driver and back-seat passenger, a man in his 20s, from Stafford, were dragged out by the offenders.
They got into the Audi and drove off, turning left out of the car park towards Blythe Bridge or Draycott.
Specialist officers attended the scene and searched the area, supported by the National Police Service (NPAS) helicopter.
Detective Constable Anna Plant, from force CID, said: “This was a brazen and terrifying car-jacking and I would like to appeal to anyone who may have information, or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.
“A light grey or white Ford Transit van followed the stolen Audi at speed and we believe that this vehicle was involved. Both offenders are described as having an Irish accent.
“The driver and his passengers were left shaken by their ordeal but were, thankfully, not hurt."
