We are appealing for information after jewellery was stolen from a shopper in Uttoxeter.
The victim, in his 70s, was in the car park of Asda, on Carters Square, on Tuesday 19 December, when the incident took place.
At around 10am the victim was approached by a woman. She showed him a piece of paper saying she was collecting money for charity, before hugging him and walking off.
Later, the man realised that his gold chain and bracelet were gone. The bracelet alone is worth around £2,000.
The suspect is described as a white woman, of medium build, around 5ft 7ins tall, and aged between 30 and 40. She has dark-coloured hair and was wearing a white face mask.
We are urging anyone with any information to call us on 101, quoting incident 612 of 19 December, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
