Update on investigation following M6 Toll collision
Main article content
A man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a collision on the M6 Toll has been released on conditional police bail.
We got a call just after 11.50pm on Tuesday (30 January) after someone saw a Vauxhall Corsa collide with a barrier on the southbound carriageway.
A woman in her late teens, who was a passenger in the car when it happened, was taken to hospital by West Midlands Ambulance Service. She has since been discharged.
A 21-year-old man of no fixed address, who we think was the driver, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, drug driving, dangerous driving, driving without a license, kidnap, driving without insurance and assault by beating.
He was questioned in custody and has since been released on conditional police bail with strict conditions while enquiries continue.
We’re still keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or those with dashcam footage of the area at the time.
