We have arrested a man for drink-driving offences following a non-stop collision in Burton-upon-Trent.
At around 11am on 16 February, we got a call saying two cars had collided on Branston Road. One of the drivers did not stay at the scene.
We later found a man, who we believe was the driver of one of the cars, and carried out a breath test.
A 61-year-old man, from Branston, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
He has been released on police bail whilst our enquiries continue.
The activity forms part of our Operation Lightning initiative, which aims to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries on the roads of Staffordshire and to disrupt and deter criminals from using the road network.
We police our roads proactively on a 24/7 basis and regularly carry out education and enforcement activity to improve road safety standards across the county.
