Three men and two women were arrested after a protest at a business premises near Lichfield on Christmas Day.
We were called to reports of protestors at the site at 12.43pm on Wednesday 25 December. Officers attended and arrested five people, who have been released on bail as we continue to investigate:
A 60-year-old man, from Ross Shire, Wales, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass, locking onto a person/object/land to cause serious disruption, conspire to destroy/damage property and criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
A 21-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass, locking onto a person/object/land to cause serious disruption, conspire to destroy/damage property and criminal damage to property - value over £5,000.
A 38-year-old woman, from Folkestone, Kent, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass, conspire to destroy/damage property and criminal damage to property - value over £5,000.
A 20-year-old woman, from Norwich, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated trespass and conspire to destroy/damage property.
Following a protest at the same location on 31 July 2024, Bryn Higgs, 60, of Ullapool, Ross Shire, has been charged with locking onto a person/object/land to cause serious disruption, conspire to destroy/damage property and criminal damage to property – value over £5,000. He appeared at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Friday 27 December) and has been remanded into custody.
