The family of a ‘beloved’ man who sadly died in a collision near Lichfield have paid tribute to him.
Mark Lucas, 64, from Shropshire, was driving a black Ford Ranger pick-up truck on Watling Street, Weeford, at about 4.50pm on Thursday 19 December when he was involved in a collision with a blue Valtra tractor and a yellow articulated Volvo lorry.
Mark sadly died as a result of his injuries at the scene.
In a moving tribute to him, Mark’s family called him a ‘beloved husband, devoted father and besotted grandpa’, who was ‘dedicated to his family and friends’.
“He was a true outdoorsman, he had a thirst for adventure and was never happier than with his family on his boat, exploring in his Land Rover or out shooting in the fields.
“Always the first to help others, Mark will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and endless optimism that was infectious to all that knew him.
“The void that he leaves behind in our lives is too vast to put into words and too deep to ever be filled.
“We will always miss him.”
Specially trained officers are continuing to support his family at this time.
The drivers of the lorry and the tractor were not injured and stayed at the scene.
We are still keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area at the time, particularly those who might have seen the vehicles before the collision and those with dashcam footage that could help investigators.
