We are appealing for information after a boy was assaulted in Stoke-on-Trent recently.
We were called at 6.15pm on Saturday (21 December) to Edensor Road in Longton, following reports of violence.
The victim, a 15-year-old boy, had been walking with friends along Goms Mill Road when he was approached by a group of young people wearing balaclavas.
Officers attended along with paramedics and found the victim had sustained a single puncture wound to his back in the attack.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
We are reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time of the assault and urge anyone with information to come forward.
We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have relevant doorbell or dashcam footage.
