We’re continuing to investigate after a man was sadly found dead inside a house in Burton-on-Trent.
Officers were called to Hazel Crescent in Branston at 4.45am on Sunday (4 August) following reports of a sudden death.
Sadly, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Specially-trained officers are continuing to support his family at this time.
We’re currently treating the death as unexplained.
The 52-year-old man and the 46-year-old woman, from Burton-on-Trent, who were both arrested on suspicion of murder, have been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
