Two more men have been arrested following violent disorder in Stoke-on-Trent and Tamworth.
This morning, we arrested an 18-year-old man, from Tamworth, on suspicion of violent disorder.
We also arrested a 28-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, also on suspicion of violent disorder.
The two men – a 38-year-old and a 60-year-old, both from Tamworth - we arrested yesterday are still in custody being questioned.
The 38-year-old has been further arrested on suspicion of encouraging/assisting in the commission of an indictable offence and displaying threatening abusive/insulting written material with intent/likely to stir up racial hatred.
Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Ellison said: “Our dedicated team of detectives are working incredibly hard to action all of the intelligence we have to act robustly against those responsible for the violence we’ve seen in Staffordshire.
“I’d like to thank the countless amount of people who have been in touch with vital information that is helping us progress our enquiries since we opened our public portal on Monday.
“I want to make it clear that we’re coming after those responsible in Staffordshire.”
