Two men have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after officers recovered cannabis worth in the region of £15,000 following a search of vehicles and property.
Officers were on patrol at around 5pm on Monday (12 August) when they stopped and searched a suspicious white Citroën and a grey BMW on Bramshall Road in Uttoxeter. We discovered a quantity of cannabis in one vehicle and more on one of the drivers.
Officers then searched a property in the Blythe Bridge area and found a further amount of cannabis.
Approximately 1.5 kilos of cannabis, worth in the region of £15,000, was discovered in total. A quantity of cash and mobile phones were also seized.
Two men from Uttoxeter, aged 21 and 27 respectively, who were each the sole drivers and occupants of the cars, were each arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs and being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
Both have since been released under investigation whilst inquiries continue.
The arrests come as we continue to crack down on those believed to be involved in the supply of drugs in Staffordshire as part of Operation Target. Since its launch in May last year, we have carried out more than 1,000 arrests of individuals as we continue to tackle those who plan, organise and commit serious criminal offences.
