A man has been jailed for five years after we recovered more than £19,000 and a phone linked to the supply of cocaine in Cannock.
Reece Caven, aged 21, from Cannock, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday (31 July) after previously admitting being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possessing criminal property.
In April 2022, proactive officers stopped a Vauxhall Insignia on Rosehill, Cannock. Caven, who was in the passenger seat, tried to hide the drug phone but wasn’t successful. A separate phone was also found on him when he was searched.
We then searched his address and found £19,495 in cash.
Caven was charged with the offences and admitted them at an earlier court hearing before his sentencing.
We’re continuing to work proactively in Staffordshire to target criminals involved in high harm crimes, including county lines drug distribution, illegal firearms activity, modern slavery, and cyber-crime.
Our teams have continued to gather and respond to intelligence, carrying out stop searches and targeting offenders in pre-planned operations and proactive warrants.
Since the crackdown was launched last year, we have arrested more than 1,000 people suspected of drug and weapon offences and are continuing to act against the organised crime groups responsible.
