A drug dealer who admitted being involved in the supply of drugs has been handed a suspended sentence.
Jamie Hunt, aged 22, of Winshill, Burton-upon-Trent, was given a two-year prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (16 August) after admitting possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine and possession of criminal property.
The court heard how Hunt, who was believed to be involved in the so-called ‘Snowy’ drug line, was stopped by officers on a towpath in the Doxey area of Stafford at 2pm on 2 May this year.
He was found to have multiple deals of heroin and crack cocaine on him, along with cash and a mobile phone. He was arrested and later pleaded guilty to the offences in court.
The officer in charge of the case, of the force’s Major and Organised Crime department, said: “Hunt was clearly involved in supplying drugs in the Stafford area when he was stopped and searched by officers in the middle of the afternoon in May.
“I am pleased he admitted his offending and hope the circumstances of his arrest show how we work continuously to identify and detain offenders suspected of being involved in the supply of drugs.
“If you are drug dealing, we know who you are and are working to bring you before the courts.”
