Detectives are appealing for information after a supermarket was targeted by thieves in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
We were called just before 2am this morning (Thursday 29 August) to reports of a disturbance on Lower Milehouse Lane.
A white Mercedes Sprinter van and power tools were used to gain access to three cash machines (ATMs) and damage store shutters.
The offenders stole money from two of the ATMs and left in a black vehicle before officers arrived.
The van, which was stolen from an address in the Darlaston area on Saturday (24 August), was left at the scene.
Staff inside the store at the time raised the alarm. No-one was injured.
At this time it is not known how much cash was taken.
Detective Sergeant, Andrew Durber, from CID North, said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or anyone who thinks they may have seen either of the vehicles involved in the area, to get in touch with us.
“We are also asking for home and business owners to ensure their properties are secure and that keys to vehicles are not left on display."
