Two men have been arrested after officers found a stolen car on false plates, a baseball bat and class A drugs in Stoke-on-Trent today (18 April).
A Nissan Qashqai was found at McDonalds on High Street in Tunstall at around 8.30am. Two of the men inside tried to run away and tried to get rid of a baseball bat and suspected wrap of class A drugs, but failed.
A 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and possessing class A drugs.
A 25-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
Both men remain in custody and enquiries are ongoing.
