We have arrested three people following reports of disorder in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
We received a call that a group had threatened a man at an address on Romney Avenue, Chesterton, shortly before 10am today (Saturday 13 April). The caller stated that a member of the group had a machete.
Firearms officers attended the scene and recovered a large knife. No-one was injured.
A 43-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both from the Stafford area, were arrested on suspicion of affray. A 19-year-old man, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon.
All three remain in custody and our enquiries are ongoing.
We would like to reassure members of the local community that there is no risk to their safety.
