We are appealing for information after a man was arrested following a deliberate fire in Burton-on-Trent.
At 8.40am on Monday (29 April), we were called to an address on Calais Road after a man was seen acting suspiciously.
A small fire was then reported. Our colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service went to the scene but the fire didn’t ignite and was out on arrival.
Following an investigation, the fire was later deemed to be caused deliberately.
No-one was injured.
A 43-year-old man, from Burton-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and stalking.
He will be questioned in custody.
We’re keen to speak to anyone who might have any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time or those with information that can help us.
