We have arrested two people after finding crack cocaine and cannabis during a stop-and-search in Tamworth.
Proactive officers spotted two men in the Stoneydelph area yesterday (31 August). One of them was riding a bike and tried to get away but was stopped.
After searching them both, we found multiple deals of crack cocaine, a small amount of cannabis, cash and suspected drug line phones.
A 19-year-old man, from Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
A 21-year-old man, from Tamworth, was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
Both men have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
The activity follows our ongoing commitment to tackling serious and organised crime as part of Operation Target.
Since it was launched in June, we’ve charged more than 500 suspects with drug related offences and stop-and-searched more than 2,500 people.
