An investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Stoke-on-Trent.
We received reports of a man in cardiac arrest at a property on Eastfield Drive, Hanley, shortly after 2.05am on Wednesday (13 September).
Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were already at the scene.
Sadly, a 34-year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later. His family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.
A cordon has been set up at the address whilst officers carry out their enquiries.
The death is being treated as unexpected and an investigation has been launched.
A 43-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. She has since been released on conditional police bail.
Another woman, aged 41, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class B drugs. She remains in custody at this time.
We are carrying out enquiries in the local area and are keen to hear from any witnesses who may have information which can assist us with our investigation.
Anyone with information, or relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, that could help us are asked to get in touch through the public portal here: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/STAFFS23K15-PO1
