We are appealing for witnesses following reports of disorder in Stoke-on-Trent last night (20 September).
At 7.30pm, we were called to Stonor Street in Cobridge after a group of young people were seen fighting in the street. One witness reported that one of them had a machete.
As a result, we sent firearms officers to the scene to investigate. The group had since left the area.
We called in our colleagues from the National Police Air Service (NPAS) to help us search the area for anyone matching the description of the group.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Officers have been speaking to witnesses today (21 September) and are continuing to look through CCTV footage of the area to find out more about what happened.
We’re keen to speak to anyone with any information, particularly those who might have footage of the area at the time of the incident.
Call us on 101, quoting incident 608 of 20 September, or message us using Live Chat on our website – www.staffordshire.police.uk
