A man and woman have been arrested after we found heroin, crack cocaine and a suspected drug line phone inside a car.
At 4.50pm yesterday (9 October), proactive officers spotted a black Audi on Laurel Grove, Stafford. One of the people inside tried to run away after spotting police but was quickly detained at the scene. He tried to throw away a phone nearby which was seized.
The car then drove away and officers tracked it into the Lichfield area. It later stopped it on the A51. We found cash, phones and 81 deals of crack cocaine and heroin.
A 34-year-old man, from Birmingham, and a 25-year-old woman, from Solihull, were both arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.
They remain in custody while our investigation continues.
The activity follows our ongoing commitment to proactively target serious and organised crime across Staffordshire.
We launched Operation Target earlier this year and have been working with local police forces to disrupt and pursue criminals who plan, organise and commit serious criminal offences across the county, including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
