A man has been arrested following an attempted robbery at a betting shop in Stoke-on-Trent.
At 3.52pm on Saturday (7 October), we were called to an address on Parliament Row, Hanley, after a man went inside and told people he had a gun.
Staff in the building triggered their own security measures and we sent firearms officers to investigate.
A short time later, we arrested a 47-year-old man, of no-fixed-address, on suspicion of robbery. He has since been recalled to prison.
No weapons were found in the area and no one was injured.
