Appeal after officers discover cannabis grown in home

Detectives are appealing for information after more than 100 cannabis plants were found inside a property in Burslem.
Inside the property, officers found a cannabis grow containing 143 plants. The address has since been secured and the plants have been seized.

The activity comes as we continue to proactively target those involved in cannabis cultivation as part of our Operation Levidrome commitment.
Cannabis farms can often be found in vacant warehouses or business premises, however, the force is responding to increasing reports of large-scale grows found in residential properties, particularly in terrace housing.
Offenders will often buy or rent the property for the sole purpose of growing cannabis and will manually tamper with the electrics to bypass any meters.
