We are appealing for information after a couple were assaulted in an attack in Hednesford.
Officers and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to Market Street just before 12.30am on Sunday 8 October.
The victims, both in their 50s, were passing the Jaipur restaurant on their way home when two unklnown males got out of their vehicle, believed to be an Audi A4, and attacked them.
One of them punched the woman in her face. Her partner was then hit over the head with what is believed to be a metal bar as he came to her aid. He has received 11 staples in his head due to the incident.
PC Lucy Baker said: “This was a particularly vicious attack and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help us trace those responsible. If you have any information regarding this please call 101."
Officers are continuing with their initial inquiries and are keen to speak to anyone who may have any information or CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time.
