We are investigating after a boy was punched in the face and robbed in Burton-on-Trent.
At about 4pm on Saturday 13 May, the 17-year-old victim was sitting on a bench with friends near Meadowside Leisure Centre on High Street. He was approached by two unknown males.
One suspect punched the victim in the face. The second male then put the boy in a headlock and took his mobile phone and £20 from him.
The victim, who suffered a cut lip and chipped tooth in the attack, ran into the leisure centre where staff called us. The mobile was retrieved by one of the victim’s friends.
We’ve been looking at CCTV and speaking to people who were in the area at the time to find out more about what happened.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone with any information, particularly those who may have CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area at the time.
