We have arrested a man following an assault in Lichfield.
At 3.13am on Sunday (26 November), we were called by West Midlands Ambulance Service to Lichfield Street, Fazeley, after a man was found with serious head injuries.
The offender left the scene.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital. He remains in a stable condition.
Officers went to the area and started speaking to people and reviewing CCTV footage.
A 20-year-old man, from Tamworth, was later arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent. He was questioned about what happened and later released on conditional police bail.
Officers are keen to speak to people who were in the area at the time or those with any information which could help with our investigation.
