We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in East Staffordshire.
We were called to Borough Road, Burton-on-Trent, just before 5pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 November) following reports of a collision involving an e-scooter and a blue Vauxhall Astra.
Officers went to the scene with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. The road was closed for a period of time whilst we worked at the scene.
The rider of the e-scooter, a man in his 50s, suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment. He remains in a stable condition at this time.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and has been helping us with our enquiries.
The road has since re-opened today (23 November). We’d like to thank those in the area for their patience following a period of disruption yesterday.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or those with CCTV and dashcam footage from the area, are asked to contact us.
Call us on 101, quoting incident 484 of 22 November, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
