We are appealing for witnesses after two teenage girls were seriously injured following a collision in the Lichfield area.
Just after 10.25pm yesterday (Monday 29 May), a white Vauxhall Vivaro van and two girls were involved in a collision on Marsh Lane, Whittington.
We went to the scene with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
The A51 was closed just before 10.45pm.
Both girls sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
They remain in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the Vivaro remained at the scene and assisted officers with inquiries.
The road was later reopened at 3.45am on Tuesday (30 May).
Officers from the collision investigation unit are particularly keen to speak to witnesses or those who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time.
