A man has been jailed following the discovery of more than 100 cannabis plants at a property in Stoke-on-Trent.
Liridon Gjana, 29, from the Burslem area, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Tuesday 30 (May) to 12 months behind bars after pleading guilty to producing class B drugs at an earlier hearing.
The court heard how officers were called to a property off Station Street, Burslem, just before 3am on 24 April 2023 following reports of suspicious activity.
On arrival, officers found more than 90 large cannabis plants and 20 small plants, which were seized as were two mobile phones.
Shortly after, a man was located and detained.
PC Adam Cliffe, of the Stoke North local policing team, said: “We will continue to do all we can to disrupt the supply of cannabis in Stoke-on-Trent to protect our communities from drug-related criminality, as part of our dedicated Operation Levidrome.”
