A man has been arrested after another man was stabbed in Tamworth.
At 4am yesterday (18 June), we were called to Peelers Way after a man had been stabbed in the street.
We went to the scene with paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service. The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
He remains in a stable condition at this time.
As a result, officers set up a cordon in the area and began investigating the circumstances of the incident.
A 30-year-old man, from Tamworth, was then arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at this time.
Detective Inspector Pete Goodwin, from CID, said: “This incident has understandably caused concern and speculation amongst local residents and those in the area.
“We would like to reiterate that we don’t believe there to be any wider threat to the public at this time and officers will continue to be visible and reassure the local community.
“I’d like to thank the public for being patient around the cordon and to those who have engaged positively with officers at the scene.”
