We are appealing for information after a number of drills were stolen from a van in Burton-on-Trent.
We were called to an address at 1.40pm on Wednesday (24 May) off Spring Terrace Road, Stapenhill.
Two men were seen entering a black Renault Trafic van at around 11am on Wednesday (24 May) and took a quantity of drills.
The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained minor injuries having been kicked by one of the offenders. He did not require hospital treatment.
Following the theft, both offenders were seen getting into a silver car heading in the direction of Spring Terrace Road.
One of the offenders is described as white, in his 20s, around 5ft 10ins tall, with short hair and was seen wearing gloves, grey bottoms and a black gilet.
Inspector Scott Gidman, of the East Staffordshire local policing team, said: “Where possible, lock your van in a secure garage or use a steering lock to deter any opportunists from targeting your vehicle.
“If possible, make sure your van is parked in direct view of CCTV cameras.
“You should attempt to remove tools from vans overnight. An alternative can be to mark them clearly with their name using paint pens and sealing that with a clear lacquer spray.
“I would also suggest using a lockable cabinet and small cameras can also be installed inside vans.”
