We have arrested a woman after finding a knife and cannabis during a search in Stoke-on-Trent.
On Friday (7 July), local officers were patrolling Hanley town centre and spotted a woman acting suspiciously.
Following a proactive search, we recovered the items.
A 33-year-old woman, from Sandbach, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of a knife.
She has since been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.
PC Edward Clarke, from the Stoke North local policing team, said: “We have been able to take a dangerous weapon off our streets through proactive and visible patrols in the town centre.
“We’d like to reassure the community that regular patrols will continue in and around the town centre to make sure local officers are visible and accessible to residents and businesses.”
