Two people have been arrested following a fire in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
We were called to Wedgwood Street at around 6.50am on Tuesday (4 July) following reports of a flat fire.
Fire crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also sent to the scene and extinguished a fire in the living room area.
A woman was taken to hospital as a precaution for smoke inhalation.
A 51-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, both from Newcastle-under-Lyme, were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
They have since been released on conditional police bail while inquiries continue.
