Six arrested as officers seize 100kg of cannabis

Six people have been arrested after 100 kilograms of cannabis was found in Stoke-on-Trent.

On Monday (3 July), we carried out a warrant in Goldenhill following intelligence which suggested that drug activity was taking place in the area.

A number of plants were found inside the premises.

All of the plants and growing equipment were seized, as well as a number of plants which were due to be delivered in the area.

We then arrested six people on suspicion of a number of offences, including:

• A 53-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cannabis
• A Stoke-on-Trent woman, aged 29, on suspicion of the same offence and importation of goods into the UK
• A 47-year-old woman, from Stoke-on-Trent, and a 25-year-old man, from Redditch, on suspicion of importing goods into the UK. 
• A Stoke-on-Trent man, aged 23, on suspicion of being concerned in importing cannabis
• A woman, 18, from Stoke-on-Trent, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis

All six have since been released on police bail while inquiries continue.

Since 2021, we have discovered more than 300 cannabis cultivations and have invested in specialist equipment and tools to assist officers in identifying and seizing drug-related material.
