A man has been jailed after he was caught carrying a knuckle duster in Stafford.
Christopher Mason, 37, of no fixed address, was sentenced to six months behind bars at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Tuesday (11 July) after he pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
We searched him on Wharf Road, Gnosall, last Sunday (9 July) and found the knuckle duster in his pocket.
He was arrested at the scene and later admitted to the offences in custody.
PC Joe Knox, of Stafford local policing team, said: “We’re pleased with the sentence given to Mason after he was found carrying a weapon in a public place.
“I’d like to reassure the local community that proactive officers will continue to carry out stop and searches in the area and action their concerns as effectively as possible.
