A man has been jailed following a pedal cycle robbery in Stoke-on-Trent.
Peter Llewellyn, 30, of Cavendish Crescent, Alsager, was sentenced to 30 months in jail at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday (5 January) after pleading guilty to robbery at an earlier hearing.
Llewellyn has also been ordered to pay a surcharge of £190.
The court heard how a man, in his 20s, was approached by Llewellyn at 1.45pm on London Road, Stoke-on-Trent, on 25 August 2021.
The victim was assaulted by Llewellyn and had his pedal cycle stolen.
The victim was also treated at the scene by paramedics and did not require hospital treatment.
Shortly after, Llewellyn was located by officers and detained.
PC Christopher Cubley, of the Moorlands Local Policing Team, said: “The victim was visibly left shaken and scared following this incident.
“We welcome the sentence given to Llewellyn and hope this serves as a reminder that this type of violent criminality will not be tolerated in our communities.”
