Man charged after handgun and £8k in drugs found

A man has been charged after we found a handgun and around £8,000 worth of crack cocaine and heroin during a stop and search in Tamworth.

Yesterday afternoon (Monday 9 January), we searched a man in the Glascote area and found the items. 

Cairo Williams, aged 22, of Alcester Road, Birmingham, was arrested and charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, obstructing / resisting a constable in execution of duty and acquiring / using / possessing criminal property.

He has since been remanded ahead of an appearance at North Staffordshire Justice Centre tomorrow (Wednesday 11 January).
