Man arrested after TV and electric bike stolen

A man has been arrested after a TV and an electric bike were reported stolen in Newcastle-under-Lyme last year.

We were most recently called on Saturday 10 December 2022 to an address off Newcastle Road following reports of a man stealing a TV from a property.

The theft is believed to have taken place sometime between 3.50am and 4.15am on Saturday.

The theft followed another that took place in early October 2022.

We were called to a business near Newcastle Road on Wednesday 5 October 2022.

An electric bike, worth £1,000, was stolen by a man who was then seen heading in the direction of the A34 on the bicycle.

We treated both these thefts as linked and arrested a man in connection with them yesterday (16 January 2023).

A 33-year-old man, from Penkhull, was arrested on suspicion of burglary with intent to steal.

He remains in police custody while inquiries continue.
