We are appealing for information after a serious road traffic collision in Stoke-on-Trent.
We were called shortly before 5pm on Saturday 30 December to the Alsager Road junction of the A500 following reports of a collision involving a white Citroen Relay van and a white Audi A3.
A 10-month-old child travelling in the Audi was taken to hospital having sustained serious injuries. They remain in a critical but stable condition in hospital. Three adults in the car suffered minor injuries.
Specially-trained officers have been deployed to support the child’s family.
The driver of the van, a 23-year-old man, stayed at the scene and has been helping us with our enquiries. The driver and the passenger in the van were not injured.
The road was closed as officers from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigated the circumstances surrounding the collision.
We are keen to speak to anyone with any CCTV, dashcam footage from the area at the time, or those with any information that could help collision investigators.
Call us on 101, quoting incident 436 of 30 December, or message us using Live Chat on our website – www.staffordshire.police.uk
