A man has been arrested after a car collided with a wall in North Staffordshire.
We went to Novi Lane, Leek, just after 3pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 December) and found a silver Vauxhall Astra which had been left abandoned after colliding with a wall.
A man, believed to be the driver of the Astra, was seen leaving the scene and was found a short time later making threats to people.
An officer was assaulted but was not seriously injured and stayed on duty.
A 32-year-old man, from Leek, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker, dangerous driving, drink driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop after an accident, failing to provide a specimen and using threatening behaviour with intent to cause fear.
He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
