A man has been arrested in Hednesford as we continue our efforts to proactively target serious and organised crime.
Yesterday (20 December), officers were patrolling the area when they spotted a Seat Leon on Anglesey Street. We searched the driver and found up to 40 bags of cocaine, two phones and cash.
A 40-year-old man, from South Staffordshire, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine. He was questioned in custody and has been released under investigation.
The activity comes as we continue to proactively target serious and organised crime across Staffordshire.
We launched a major crackdown this year, called Operation Target, to protect those who are most vulnerable and go after those responsible for offences including drug supply, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
So far this year, we have worked proactively to arrest more than 220 people in Staffordshire on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs. We have also charged more than 40 suspects with weapon offences as part of Operation Target activity.
