We are appealing for information after a house was set alight on a building site in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Officers were called to Wilmot Drive shortly after 1.30am on Tuesday (19 December) following reports of a fire. Our colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service worked to extinguish the blaze.
The building was only partly built at the time. Due to the damage, the roof and the first floor of the house collapsed.
No-one was injured.
An investigation into the cause determined that the fire was started deliberately. We’re keen to speak to anyone with any information that can help us with our investigation.
Call us on 101, quoting incident 31 of 19 December, or message us using Live Chat on our website.
If you prefer to report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Tell them what you know, not who you are.
