No place for hate in Staffordshire

If you are a victim of a hate crime, we will listen to you, we will investigate it and we will use all legal powers available to us to bring offenders to justice.

This clear reminder comes from Assistant Chief Constable Rebecca Riggs, who wants to reassure communities that the force will not tolerate hate and will take all matters relating to hate crime seriously.

“Many people, including our own officers, can be victims of hate crimes but take it on the chin and not report it. I want to encourage anyone who has been a hate crime victim to come forward as it is only through us holding those offenders to account that we can collectively change behaviours and attitudes over time,” ACC Riggs said.

Anyone who is a victim of a hate crime should report it to us as soon as possible through the LiveChat service on our website. Your report will be treated with total confidentiality and an officer will investigate your case.

There are several national organisations that offer support to victims of hate crime. They provide services such as helplines, guidance, confidential safety advice and training.
