A man has been jailed after he sexually assaulted two women in East Staffordshire.
Samuel Stewart, 65, from Burton-on-Trent, who was previously working as a carer, sexually assaulted two women in East Staffordshire between August 2020 and April 2021.
He made repeated sexual remarks to both of the victims over this period. He touched one of the victims on multiple occasions.
He was reported to us in April 2021 and was questioned by officers before admitting to some of the offences at an earlier court hearing.
Stewart was sentenced to 27 months behind bars at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday (16 August) after he admitted to three counts of sexual assault on a woman.
He was also found guilty on three more counts of sexual assault on a woman and given a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered to pay £150 in surcharge costs.
DS Chris Wynn-Jones, from the adult safeguarding team, said: “I want to thank both victims for their exceptional bravery in supporting this investigation and making sure this offender faces justice.
“We want victims of sexual assault to know that they can speak to specially-trained officers in confidence who will do everything possible to put those responsible behind bars.”
