We are appealing for information after a man was assaulted during a break-in in Cheadle.
At around 12.20am on Wednesday morning (2 August), we were called by West Midlands Ambulance Service to a home on Queen Street.
A man in his 40s suffered an injury to his eye after being assaulted by a man who entered his home.
The victim was treated at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The suspect, who is described as white, of a slim build, was wearing a purple and grey tracksuit and had a local accent. He went inside the home and assaulted the victim before leaving.
Officers have spoken with residents in the area whilst we continue to investigate the circumstances around the incident.
