A man has been convicted of non-recent child sexual abuse after admitting the offences in court.
Fred Rigby, aged 69, of Sneyd Green, appeared at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday (17 April) where he pleaded guilty to a total of seven counts of indecent assault of girls aged under 14.
The court heard how the abuse involved two victims and took place between 1989 and 1992.
Rigby will be sentenced at the same court in June.
Investigative officer, David Morgan, of Staffordshire Police’s rape and serious sexual offences team (RASSO), said: “I would like to commend the victims’ bravery in coming forward to report Rigby to us.
“I hope this brings some comfort to the victims, who continue to come to terms with what happened to them.
“I would encourage anyone affected by non-recent child sexual abuse to get in touch with us as you will be believed, supported and offenders will be brought to justice.”
