Two men have been arrested after an elderly man was assaulted in Leek yesterday (Thursday 13 October).
We were called to Garden Street, Leek, shortly after 11pm on Thursday.
We attended the scene with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
A man, in his 70s, reported being assaulted by three men.
The victim had sustained facial injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene. He did not require hospital treatment.
A short time later, officers located two men who had departed the scene on foot, in the direction of Wellington Street.
A 32-year-old man, from Newcastle-Under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.
A 21-year-old man, from Leek, was arrested on suspicion of affray.
Both remain in police custody while inquiries continue.
