Detectives are investigating after a man was injured in Stoke-on-Trent.
Officers responded to reports of a firearm being discharged on Etruria Vale Road, at 1.25am this morning (Tuesday 4 October).
At approximately 1.10am, a man was injured whilst standing at the front of a property.
It was reported that two men, dressed in black, had walked past the victim at the time and were believed to be in possession of a possible firearm.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was treated at the scene by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service and transported to hospital for treatment.
He has since been discharged.
Police have set up a cordon and are asking the public to avoid the area at this time.
A 40-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon.
He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
Detectives are particularly interested in any CCTV, dashcam or smart doorbell footage in and around Etruria Vale Road, James Brindley Close and to the roundabout near Snow Hill.
