We are appealing for information after a man died following a fatal collision in Burton-on-Trent.
At 7.05pm yesterday (Thursday 3 November), we were called to the southbound carriageway of the A38, between Shobnall and Branston, after a grey Lexus and a pedestrian collided.
We closed the A38 in both directions between Branston and Claymills whilst paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service worked at the scene.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, the pedestrian, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are working hard to trace his next of kin.
The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and was transported to hospital for precautionary checks.
We are keen to speak to anyone who may have any dashcam footage or those who may have seen the pedestrian or the vehicle before the collision.
The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing.
Contact the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) directly by emailing [email protected] or contact us on 101, Facebook or Twitter, quoting incident 602 of 3 November.
